We do certain things over and over even though we know they are bad. We need to follow certain habits to stay healthy and strong. Let's see what are the healthy habits to follow daily.

1 & 2. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol

Many people smoke when they are happy, sad or stressed. Smoking affects your health and others and when you smoke it reduces oxygen and increases carbon dioxide in your body. Because of this, your body tissues don't get enough oxygen, smoking causes thousands of such problems.

Alcoholism causes liver and kidney problems. It lowers immunity and avoid these habits to prevent these problems.

3. Brush your teeth at least twice a day

Brushing your teeth twice is said to be a good habit, but few of us actually follow it. Brushing in the morning removes only 90% of the germs, the remaining 10% can grow within 12 hours, and we brush at night to remove this. Neglecting to brush your teeth at night can lead to gum problems, tooth decay, so try to avoid these problems by brushing twice a day.

4. Avoid fast food

Eating too fast can cause digestive problems as the food reaches the stomach directly. Food can hit the respiratory tract instead of the food pipe, causing breathing problems. To avoid this, chew your food properly.

5. Exercise

Exercising at least three times a week, like a 45-minute walk, will keep you fit. You can take breaks during exercise, but don't take breaks to exercise and avoid doing it. Walk if your office is near and get off at the previous stop and walk to office if traveling by bus.

6. Sleep Eight Hours

Some people spend their whole lives sleeping and 8 hours of sleep is essential and when it falls short it affects your immune system. Lack of sleep causes infections, eye irritation, lack of attention etc.

7. Eat junk food in moderation

Children prefer junk food which is attracted by its color rather than healthy traditional food like idli, dosa etc. Most of the junk food is made with maida which can affect our health and cause constipation as these foods are low in fiber. Certain substances like wax in junk food get deposited in our intestines and cause health problems. When we take these foods regularly, we get ulcers, diabetes, high blood pressure etc. at an early age. Instead, make a colorful fruit salad at home and give it to your kids.

8. Divide the food into 6 portions

Excess carbohydrates in rice are converted into fat and stored in our body. This causes problems like obesity and cholesterol storage in blood vessels. Know the number of calories in the food you eat and divide your meal into 6 portions. Pulses contain protein, rice contains carbohydrates, oil contains cholesterol and vegetables contain fibre, vitamins, minerals etc. A balanced diet can lead to a healthy life.
